Event Programme

We're well aware that the best conferences spark ideas both inside and outside the talks (we've been attending them for years), and we're always eager to support the security community.

So, after some conversations with event organisers, we're launching our event programme. As a small, independent publisher sponsorship is often out of reach but we still wanted to find a way to support the community, and have cooked this up.

How It Works

There's two strands to this.

Firstly we're working with event organisers to provide a discount to all attendees of their events for our full listing. Nothing special's needed here - just let us know when your event is and where we can find details and we'll provide a code that will work for six months, up until the event finishes (and that includes the afterparty).

Secondly, we know no one likes paying for shipping, so we are working with organisers to let attendees pick up their orders at the event. No waiting around for the post, no faffing with international customs (a painful experience for everyone involved), we'll just arrange a place at the event that you can pick up your books. A little more complicated on this one, as obviously we need to work it our with the organisers, but we're pretty flexible and can work out of the carpark in a pinch.

Why We're Doing This

Partly it's because we want more of our books out there - they're great books and our authors really have something to add to the security industry. With us moving away from Amazon as a platform we know our sales will be hit, and we'd like to go more direct to you.

A lot of it is that we know that conferences are a great place to spark ideas, inspire people, and share knowledge. We want to make it as easy as possible for attendees to keep learning after the event. Plus, we like conferences and go to a lot of them - any support we can give is worthwhile.

How to Get Involved

• Organisers - if you're running an event and want to give access to this perk, get in touch at discount@securityblendbooks.com. Tell us where we can get details on your event, and we'll sort you the code.
• Attendees - keep an eye out for announcements from your favourite conferences, check our website to see if they're taking part, and if they're not then tell them you want them to get involved so you can expand your library!
